abvi local attractions

Listed below you will find plenty of things to do in and around the area. Our hotel is located only 14 miles from the Yosemite National Park South Gate entrance. While visiting Yosemite National Park you may want to come prepared with comfortable walking shoes, drinking water, and of course your camera with plenty of batteries for your digital camera or film for your analog. There are a couple of stores in the park to pick up a few last minute supplys, and a gas station. There are also a few very nice restaurants in the park, prices ranging from mid price to up scale. You may want to pack a lunch if coming on a budget or have children.

There are many places in the park to enjoy with the young to the young at heart. Dramatic peaks and enormous domes tower the landscape of the U-shaped glacial Yosemite Valley. The vast majority of Yosemite is comprised of granitic rocks formed millions of years ago and speckled with feldspar, quartz, biotite mica and hornblende. The valley floor at 4,000 feet elevation is seven miles in length and a mile in width. As you look up in awe you are set back by the towering sheer cliffs which ascend 3-4,000 feet above you.

Remember you are in the wilderness! The park is full of natural wonders including wildlife. For tips on staying safe while visiting the park including Black Bear information click here . For maps of the park please click here.

Whatever activities you plan we want to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. For any questions or comments call: 559.658.5500.
